Let me introduce you to Sybil!
When I first met Sybil she was nameless and without a home. She was sitting there, alone, waiting to get picked up for a price. I happen to be in the market that day, and she caught my eye. I checked her out and decided her price was reasonable for all the positive attributes she boasted. I was brimming with excitement as I handed over my money and brought her home. At first I was awe struck by all the tricks she could perform, and I dreamed of all the fun we could have together. We became quick friends and co-workers. We shined in each other’s company.
Now Sybil is not flashy, or a money pit like others. She was low key, and I liked that. She always performed and was ready for any challenge I presented. Sybil never whined, or misbehaved, she just did her job, and she did it well. Years past with little difficulty, and I never regretted our partnership, but one day, for no apparent reason, she started acting up. She started throwing tantrums like a child, breaking things regularly, and sometimes she flat out refused to work. I was shocked at the total disrespect, or the lack of compassion she showed me. Worst of all, Sybil completely disregarded all the money she was going to cost me.
I attempted to make things right with her, and I even tried to change things up to make our working relationship better, but she was just different now.
I started researching on ways to make her happy again. After searching for many days and nights, I came across an article that showed me that I was doing everything wrong. It explained that I wasn’t keeping her clean the way someone should, I was not releasing the tension when needed and lastly I was just not feeding her properly. With all the insightful knowledge I had gained, I made it my mission to make things right. I cleaned her carefully, removed the tension, learned how to feed her the right way and I gave her a name, Sybil. To my relief, Sybil sprung back to life, the way she used to be, and she worked harder than ever. She returned to the sewing machine that I fell in love with so many years ago.
She has not yet reverted back to another personality, she is just sweet, hard working Sybil now.
