Thought I would try something new, one to see if I could do it, two because I wanted to try something different 😉 . The other day I went to the grocery store and I came upon these beautiful green, gold and red pears. They looked delicious. So I bought a few and after getting them home and admiring their color and shape, I knew I had my next project. So I took a few pictures. Then I ate the most appetizing one, straight away.
I contemplated many backgrounds, but sort of wanted to have the pear really pop, so I went with grey. I think grey and red work great together. After thinking about how I wanted to position the pear and that it must create a shadow somewhere. I drew the pear by eye and marked a shadow reference line. I gathered all my red magazine pages and several shades of greys and like greys, and began to form the picture.
This project was great and went by quickly. I am contemplating a series of different types of fruit with different colored backgrounds that will compliment the grey background I used on this piece. This is still drying so you can see a little white haze on the piece, but it will dry completely clear.
