Hello, my name is Barbara .
My journey as an Artisan began in a time when there was no internet or craft channels on the TV. A time when a Parent or Grandparent would spend time with you teaching you an art or craft. Something that would keep you busy for hours. It was a time when you made things with your hands and your imagination and there was always plenty of that.
My Nana Johnson was a passionate lover of arts and crafts and during the precious time we spent together, she shared that love and knowledge with me. She never turned down the opportunity to break out the big box of supplies and get creative. She encouraged me to create, and to express myself through my work. My mother shared her knowledge of sewing and taught me the process of making clothing. At the age of thirteen, my parents bought me my first Kenmore sewing machine. It was magical to me. Unbeknownst to them, their gift started me on a lifelong path of creativity.
Over the years, I have tested myself and expanded my repertoire with a multitude of art forms and crafting techniques. I’ve quilted, sewn clothing, sculpted heirloom Santas, cross stitched, knitted, crocheted, made stained glass lamps, made furniture, painted, and so on. There isn’t a craft challenge out there that I haven’t accepted and immersed myself in.
Although not every craft was for me, the adventures that my work has taken me on are something I will always cherish, and the knowledge I’ve gained is immeasurable. With this website, I want to reach out and share my work and the things I’ve learned. By sharing ideas and techniques through how-to videos and my own personal quilting patterns, I want to inspire a love of crafts within all my viewers, just as my Nana did for me.
Don’t forget to visit my gallery to see some of my work, and to place an order. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you.
